Engineering Workshop Manager / Foreman

Are you a qualified engineer looking to spend less time on the tools and take over managing a busy workshop? This position is pivotal to the success of the business and is responsible for the efficient growth and continual development of the engineering workshop while overseeing the workshop team.

The Details: 

• You'll be able to efficiently manage the workshop and team.
• Taking on new jobs, managing projects, liaising with clients and customers.
• Always maintain safe working practices and ensure all employees and sub-contractors are familiar with Health and Safety information.
• Delegate out work and manage approximately 10 employees.
• Quote / estimate jobs and projects and attend site measures.
• Ordering materials and consumables as and when required.
• Ensuring job records of the work carried out, time and materials used are accurately recorded and billed in a timely manner.
• Perform incoming and outgoing inspections and quality control for all jobs.
• Invoicing is desired but support is there in the office.

Essential Skills We Need From You:
• A thorough understanding and experience in all facets of industrial, commercial, structural and architectural Engineering.
• Sheet metal.
• General machining (mill and lathe).
• Quoting / estimating.
• Proven record in project management.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Great interpersonal and organisational skills and be able to motivate people.
• Adhere to strict deadlines and costs.
• Computer literate.

Things we would like but aren't a deal breaker:
• WorkFlowMax (project management software) experience.
• Xero (accounting software) experience.
