Our client operates a family-owned business in rural Canterbury and is looking for a Class 5 operator to join their team.
About the Role
Working in the rural sector across the Selwyn district this family business has been operating for over 100 years. Covering everything rural you could be working fertiliser spreading, stock cartage, freight, bulk grain, logging, general cartage.
What you'll do:
- Driving different heavy vehicles in different sectors as required
- Transporting goods, managing loading/unloading,
- Securing cargo, completing delivery paperwork,
- Performing vehicle checks, and communicating with dispatch
- Adherence to safety regulations for efficient, on-time deliveries
Requirements
- Full Class 5 driver license (essential)
- Experience with logging
- Experience dealing with the rural sector
- 5 years Truck & Trailer experience preferred
- Physically fit and confident with manual handling and heavy lifting
- Mechanically minded with the ability to identify simple faults
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
