Yard Operator

Yard Operator needed to receive, sort and contain waste and recyclables. Part-time role, Friday to Sunday in Waiuku. Pay Rate - $24.50 per hour. Entry-level opportunity!


About the Role

We need a Yard Operator to join our client's waste recovery facility in Waiuku, Auckland. This is a part-time role, working Friday to Sunday.

Reporting to the shift supervisor, you'll be responsible for assessing volumes of waste and recyclables and charging for these appropriately. You'll help receive, sort and contain materials, and advise customers about what is and isn't accepted.

Some customer service and cash handling/till work may be required as needed. You may be required to operate a forklift according to site safety procedures or be prepared to learn to.

  • Receive, sort and contain waste and recyclables
  • Keep yard and access ways tidy and clean
  • Provide great customer service as required

 

About You

Having some customer service, cash handling and till experience will be very useful in this role. You enjoy interacting with a diverse range of people, are a team player, and have strong communication skills. Ideally, you have experience managing site traffic and working around vehicles, forklifts, and trucks.

It's very beneficial if you have a current OSH cert and can operate a forklift according to site safety procedures, or are prepared to learn to.

  • Experience operating a forklift is highly beneficial, but it is not essential
