Machinery Operator

Can you jump on any machine and get the job done? Experienced Machinery Operator wanted for busy civil projects in Central Otago. Great rates, solid hours, immediate start.


Our client is seeking an experienced Machinery Operator to join their team working across a range of civil construction, earthworks, roading, water, and infrastructure projects throughout Central Otago.

This is an excellent opportunity for an operator who enjoys working on diverse projects and is comfortable operating a variety of earthmoving equipment.

About the Role:

  • Operate a range of earthmoving plant and machinery
  • Carry out earthworks, roading, drainage, and infrastructure works
  • Complete daily plant inspections and maintenance checks
  • Work safely around underground services and live worksites
  • Assist with general labouring duties when required
  • Work closely with supervisors and site crews to achieve project outcomes
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and productivity

What We’re Looking For:

Essential

  • Full Class 1 Driver Licence
  • Current WTR Endorsements
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience operating civil construction machinery
  • Strong understanding of safe machine operation
  • Physically fit and capable of working in a hands-on environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Highly Regarded

  • Class 2, 3, or 4 Licence
  • Forklift Endorsement
  • Experience operating excavators, loaders, rollers, graders, and dump trucks
  • Experience with excavator attachments including augers, breakers, compactors, and tilt buckets
  • GPS machine control experience
