Our client is seeking an experienced Hydraulic Service Technician to join our team working on heavy and commercial vehicles. This is a hands on role for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and safety.
Our client has over two decades in the heavy industry sector from hydraulics and heavy diesel to machining, fabrication, field service, and project delivery. You will be part of a team that values quality, consistency, and delivering results that build our reputation.
The role involves the manufacture, servicing, repair, and commissioning of hydraulic and mechanical equipment both on-site and within the workshop, working across a range of major-brand hydraulic systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse, troubleshoot, service, and repair hydraulic and mechanical systems and components
- Manufacture, assemble, test, and commission hydraulic equipment
- Diagnose faults within hydraulic and mechanical systems, with or without schematics
- Read and interpret hydraulic and engineering drawings, including open loop, closed loop, PTO-powered, logic valve, servo, proportional, and regenerative circuits
- Safely operate and change accumulators
- Use hydraulic test, flushing, filtration, and purification equipment correctly
- Select, install, and commission hydraulic hoses, pipes, and tubing, ensuring correct sizing, flow capacity, and compatibility
- Complete job cards, timesheets, and required documentation accurately and daily
- Liaise with customers and internal teams to maintain clear communication and high service standards
Skills and Experience Required
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in hydraulic servicing, repair, or mechanical equipment
- Proven knowledge of major brand hydraulic components
- Strong technical diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and technical drawings
- Relevant trade qualification or equivalent industry experience
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
