Line mechanic

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Line Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical power lines and related equipment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring a reliable power supply, working on overhead and underground electrical systems, and responding to maintenance and emergency repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain overhead and underground power lines.
  • Inspect electrical systems and identify faults or damage.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks on power distribution networks.
  • Work with transformers, switchgear, and associated electrical equipment.
  • Climb power poles and operate bucket trucks to reach electrical infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Respond to power outages, emergencies, and scheduled maintenance work.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members, contractors, and utility companies.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Line Mechanic with relevant trade certification.
  • Experience working with power distribution and transmission networks.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards and procedures.
  • Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physically fit and capable of handling manual labor tasks.
  • A valid driver’s license (preferably with heavy vehicle endorsement).
