Quantity Surveyor

Our client is on the lookout for an experienced and passionate Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Christchurch. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-value commercial projects, alongside a committed and supportive Project Manager.

You will be hands on with cost management and play a vital role in keeping projects on task – on budget, on time and with clear communication across the board.

Your main duties will include:

  • Managing project costs and financial controls
  • Preparing and maintaining internal budgets
  • Forecasting and financial reporting
  • Procuring and managing subtrade packages and tenders
  • Assessing progress claims and handling variations
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Working closely with the Project Team to tackle challenges and spot opportunities

About You:

You are someone who thrives on seeing a project through from start to finish. You communicate clearly, understand the ins and outs of construction and know the importance of good team work.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience on large-scale commercial projects in New Zealand
  • A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Solid experience managing costs across the project lifecycle
  • Excellent communication skills – both with your team and trade partners
