Quantity Surveyor

Our client is on the lookout for an experienced and passionate Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Christchurch. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-value commercial projects, alongside a committed and supportive Project Manager.
You will be hands on with cost management and play a vital role in keeping projects on task – on budget, on time and with clear communication across the board.
Your main duties will include:
- Managing project costs and financial controls
- Preparing and maintaining internal budgets
- Forecasting and financial reporting
- Procuring and managing subtrade packages and tenders
- Assessing progress claims and handling variations
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Working closely with the Project Team to tackle challenges and spot opportunities
About You:
You are someone who thrives on seeing a project through from start to finish. You communicate clearly, understand the ins and outs of construction and know the importance of good team work.
You will bring:
- Proven experience on large-scale commercial projects in New Zealand
- A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
- Solid experience managing costs across the project lifecycle
- Excellent communication skills – both with your team and trade partners
