Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Joinery Craftsperson to join our dedicated team. As a Senior Joinery Craftsperson, you will be responsible for producing high-quality household joinery, ensuring all projects meet our company standards, industry regulations, and client expectations. Your role will involve both workshop production and on-site installation of custom joinery, while also mentoring and training apprentices in the craft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture and assemble top-quality joinery, including cabinetry, timber furniture, and acrylic benchtops.
  • Install joinery components at client sites with precision, maintaining professionalism and quality.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications to deliver accurate results.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and finish wood and other materials to exact design requirements.
  • Use advanced joinery techniques to guarantee durability and aesthetic appeal in all projects.
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure compliance with both company and industry standards.
  • Perform machine setup, operation, and basic maintenance to keep tools and equipment in excellent working condition.
  • Maintain stock levels and assist with material sourcing for production needs.
  • Mentor and train apprentices, imparting best practices, safety protocols, and high-quality craftsmanship techniques.
  • Ensure the workshop is clean, organized, and compliant with all health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in risk assessments and safety inductions to promote a safe working environment.
  • Contribute to team discussions, process improvements, and the efficient completion of projects.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in joinery techniques, tools, and materials.

Skills & Experience:

  • Qualifications: Fully qualified Joiner, First Aid Level 1 & 2 Certification, Forklift license (preferred or willing to obtain).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in joinery and woodworking, with substantial experience in manufacturing and installing high-quality joinery. Familiarity with workshop machinery, including saws, planers, and CNC equipment.
  • Skills:
    • Expertise in woodworking and joinery craftsmanship.
    • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
    • Ability to read and interpret architectural and workshop drawings.
    • Competency in handling and maintaining woodworking machinery.
    • Strong understanding of health and safety requirements in a joinery workshop.
    • Good communication skills for both team collaboration and client interactions.
    • Ability to manage time efficiently and meet project deadlines.
    • Commitment to delivering superior craftsmanship and quality control.
