Shipwright/Boat builder
We are seeking experienced Shipwrights to join a World class builder of award winning Yachts in the luxury Marine Industry based in New Zealand. We are continually expanding our team to meet demands of a growing portfolio of projects.
A position has become available for a qualified and experienced Shipwright to join our professional team engaged in the construction, maintenance, and restoration of high-specification vessels. This role is suited to a detail-oriented tradesperson with a demonstrated background in marine craftsmanship and a commitment to delivering work of the highest standard.
The job:
- Perform fibreglass, timber, and structural repairs and construction to a high standard
- Advanced structural fibreglass repair and construction experience is essential for this role
- Record time, job notes, and materials accurately
- Communicate clearly with the Head Shipwright, office staff, and clients
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in top condition
- Follow safety procedures, SOPs, and quality standards
Your Requirements will include:
- A current trade Certificate III in Marine Craft Construction
- Minimum 3 years' professional experience in a shipwright or senior boat building capacity
- Proficiency in traditional and modern marine construction techniques
- Strong understanding of marine materials and their applications
- Ability to work unsupervised with accuracy and accountability
- Familiarity with relevant maritime safety and compliance standards
- Current driver license
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time keeping skills
- Be punctual & reliable with a great work ethic
- The ability to diversify & multi-task
- Forward thinking and the ability to use your own initiative
- Work Safely at Heights Certificate
- Enter and Work in Confined Spaces Certificate
