We are looking for experienced Structural Steel Erectors / Installers based in Southland and Otago for ongoing commercial and industrial projects.
This is hands-on site work for people who know their way around structural steel and can confidently install steel safely and accurately.
The Role
- Erect and install structural steel, beams, columns and associated steelwork
- Work from structural drawings and plans to ensure accurate installation
- Use hand and power tools and relevant lifting/installation equipment
- Carry out steel installation at height while following site safety procedures
- Work alongside crane operators, fabricators and other trades
- Ensure steel is installed correctly and to project specifications
- Maintain a high standard of safety, workmanship and housekeeping on site
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in structural steel erection and installation
- Able to confidently read and understand structural drawings
- Comfortable working at heights
- Experience working around cranes and lifting equipment
- Working at Heights / Harness experience or tickets preferred
- EWP/MEWP or other relevant site tickets advantageous
- Strong understanding of site safety requirements
- Reliable, physically fit and able to work well as part of a team
