An established civil construction contractor is seeking an experienced Field Based Surveyor to support the planning, organisation, and delivery of contract works across a diverse range of projects. This role plays a key part in ensuring high-quality set out, accurate as-built records, and effective coordination between engineers, and clients.

Reporting to the Contracts Managers, the Surveyor will be responsible for:

  • Completing set out, surveying, and as-built tasks using appropriate instruments.
  • Processing survey data and models within 12d Model and 12d Field.
  • Managing GPS machine control outputs, design models, and calibrations.
  • Preparing quantities for monthly claims and ensuring accurate data management.
  • Liaising with councils, engineers, and clients to maintain strong communication channels.
  • Supporting continuous improvement of surveying procedures, systems, and equipment.
  • Upholding all health, safety, and environmental requirements and contributing to a positive safety culture.
  • Providing guidance and training to engineers on basic survey and as-built tasks as required.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Essential

  • Diploma in Surveying (or equivalent qualification)
  • Demonstrated experience with 12d Model, 12d Field, and Microsoft Office
  • Proven ability to set out contract works from plans or imported data
  • Strong organisational, planning, and data management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and prioritise workload
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality
