We are seeking a skilled surface finishing specialist responsible for all aspects of trowelling, concrete finishing, and related surface preparation works across a range of construction applications including concrete, masonry, plaster, Tiling and paving.
Key Responsibilities:
• Carries out all trowelling and surface finishing work including spreading, levelling, screeding, smoothing and finishing concrete, mortar and plaster to required standards
• Applies trowelling techniques across a range of construction surfaces including concrete slabs, blockwork, brickwork, plastered surfaces, paving and tiled finishes
• Mixes, pours, screeds, spreads and vibrates concrete, mortar or plaster using hand and power tools to achieve uniform and specified finishes
• Operates hand trowels, edging tools and power trowelling equipment (walk-behind and ride-on where required)
• Checks and maintains vertical and horizontal alignment and surface levels in accordance with specifications
• Reads and interprets plans and specifications to determine finishing requirements, materials and surface tolerances
• Assists with the preparation and setting up of formwork and moulds where required for concrete works
• Assists with the placement and positioning of reinforcing steel (rebar) and mesh in preparation for concrete pours as part of finishing operations
• Supports concrete pours including placement, vibration and finishing processes
• Carries out repairs, patching and remedial work to concrete, masonry and related finished surfaces
• May undertake surface preparation and finishing support work across brick, block, plaster and paving applications where required
• Maintains compliance with all Health & Safety requirements and site procedures
• Performs any other duties reasonably required in support of trowelling and surface finishing operations
Experience & Requirements:
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Troweller.
• Proven capability in concrete finishing, screeding and surface preparation
• Experience working across masonry, plastering, tiling, paving or related finishing environments using trowelling techniques
• Competent use of hand and power finishing tools
• Strong understanding of surface tolerances, finishing quality and construction sequencing
• Physically fit, reliable and able to work in active construction environments
