Workshop Manager

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Joinery Workshop Manager to lead our clients team!


We are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to oversee the manufacturing operations of household joinery for a well-established company in Cromwell. This key leadership position will be responsible for managing the production process, ensuring smooth operations, maintaining health and safety standards, and fostering a high-performing team. If you are a hands-on leader with a passion for craftsmanship and people development, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Operations: Manage the manufacturing of all household joinery, ensuring production runs smoothly, efficiently, and meets high standards.
  • Team Leadership: Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to manufacturing staff, including apprentices and trainees, ensuring their professional growth.
  • Health & Safety: Lead health and safety initiatives, conduct inductions, and enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Quality Control: Oversee quality control checks and ensure completed work meets the company's standards before sign-off.
  • Stock & Machinery Management: Maintain stock control, monitor material availability, and schedule machine maintenance to ensure equipment runs optimally.
  • Schedule Management: Delegate tasks effectively and ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Fully Qualified Joiner with a minimum of five years' experience in the joinery industry.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of workshop machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations in a workshop setting.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Desirable:

  • Forklift license (or willing to obtain).
  • First Aid Level 1 and 2 certification.
  • Clean driver's license.
