Seeking an experienced Fabricator / Welder

About The Role:

We are currently seeking an experienced fabricator / welder to join an outstanding team here in Queenstown.

Depending on the day you could be in workshop, or out onsite, no ground hog day here!  This position will involve heavy lifting, able to stand for extended periods, and excel with the use of a folding machine for sheet metal, also high standard of health and safety are required.  You will be able to work alone unsupervised and within a team.

The nitty gritty: 

• Selecting, preparing and cutting steel materials.
• Experience operating a sheet metal folding machine and cutting machine.
• Buff, Prepare and Paint Structural Steel Beams
• Assisting on site as required
• Weld component as required
• Position, align and fit parts according to specifications.
• Grind, sand, polish and detail fabrications to required finish using hand and power tools to a high standard.
• Measure and examine completed work to verify conformance to specifications.
• Completed in the agreed time frames
• Operation of manual machine tools, as part of the fabrication process when required.
• Maintenance of machinery to be undertaken from time to time.
• Ensure that the supply of consumables, i.e. gas, welding wire etc. does not run out
• Maintain and operates tools, gauges and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
• Complete administrate tasks as required.
• Compliance with Health and Safety procedures to meet both legislative and WorkSafe NZ/ OSH standards
